Old Timer #2 – Jeff Hilimire
Next on the list of DMTA Graduates is the Hillbilly! Jeff Hilimire burst of the tennis scene at the ripe old age of about 14! I vividly remember a letter he once sent me that recalled his first tennis lesson with the Bigdog. The one thing he remembers most was that he thought he was going to die!! His quick humor along with his tenacity on court gained the respect of all players far and wide!! Well several years later(15 or so) those traits still exist as you can visit him at a Web Design Giant called Spunlogic! He’s often referred to as “the best slave driver you’ll ever want to work for!” Jeff now has a great family and still offers his advice on all issues and will help anytime his busy schedule allows. He (even though sometimes hard to get on the bike) is still one of my cycling friends. Here are a couple of photo”s of Jeff:
Old Timer #1 – John Williams
First on the list of old timers is a 25 year old that pretty much all of the old timers know!! He was known for his “Dog” mentality and his never die attitude! John Williams started in the DMTA at about the old age of 9, and when his mind, body and spirit were acting as one, he was one of the most feared players around! These traits came together clearly at the 1999 Ga Junior Qualifier where after working for 6 months not only won the Ga High School Tennis Championship for Brookwood High, for the third time, but won the Boys 18 singles and doubles at the Qualifier!! John is now in USAF Pilot Training in Del Rio, Texas!
Here are a few pics about John Williams!
